A huge well done to our Site Manager, Kevin Downey, who recently took on the Gower Peninsula Challenge in South Wales, organised by Ultra Challenge®.
Kevin signed up for the marathon distance of 26.7 miles, but after taking a slight detour along the route he actually completed an incredible 31 miles (the ultra marathon distance) all in under seven hours! 🎉
He was amongst around 1,500 participants competing across 11 events over the weekend.
Starting from the historic Penrice Castle, the challenging route takes participants through the most spectacular scenery of South West Wales all while tackling challenging elevation and varied terrain.
Even more importantly, Kevin raised an amazing £720 for Cancer Research UK (CRUK), contributing towards an incredible £400,000 raised collectively for a range of charities throughout the event.
Kevin, we’re incredibly proud of your determination, resilience and commitment, both on and off site. Your achievement is truly inspiring, and we’re delighted to celebrate it with you.
